Individual Crossroads Reflections

Bridging the 1970s and 1980s
[While at The College School prior to Crossroads}, we were in class with Jan Phillips when someone came in and said someone (Denny ?) had fallen off the roof. We all ran outside and saw him lying on the ground with a bone sticking out of his arm and blood surrounding the wound. It turned out he and Mrs. Phillips had set this up in order to teach us about wound management.
Crossroads always found a way to engage everyone in learning experiences!
I remember the smell of the ditto machine when we made copies for class (I loved that smell!), the space under the stairs on Lindell, the excitement when we actual got lockers (on Lindell), walking to lunch in the area and playing Pac-Man, and walking through the open floor of what would become Crossroads on DeBaliviere. We had a space in the back where we collected cans and newspapers for recycling, Transportation was a van, Arthur and Carol’s station wagon, other teachers’ cars, or walking. Everyone knew each other. We had 19 graduates in the second year of high school graduations.
